Sarah Cartledge

Admitted as a legal practitioner in 2007 and to the bar in 2011, Sarah’s practice focuses on regulatory proceedings and crime, with particular specialisation in work, health and safety matters, having a focussed practice in this area for the past 14 years.

Sarah is briefed by government clients as well as corporate clients and individuals. Sarah’s experience in work, health and safety extends to prosecuting and defending. She is one of the few barristers in Queensland to have been involved in multiple work, health and safety trials, sentences and appeals. Sarah has been recommended in Doyle’s Guide 2026 list of leading workplace health and safety law barristers. Sarah’s experience in regulatory matters also extends to mining, coal mining, electrical safety, national heavy vehicle, licensing and professional misconduct.

Sarah’s background in criminal law has meant she has extensive experience running trials, making persuasive arguments to juries and judges and cross-examining witnesses, including experts.
